1988 was the year most of the band was to graduate high school. Since Richard went to 3 high schools (St. Viator, Forest View and Elk Grove) the amount of credits he needed was short, so the only way he could graduate on time with his class was to take day school and night school, which essentially put a stop to the band for most of 1988. During this time Tony continued with a new band called "Arena" which featured Tony, Dean and Dave from 7th heaven. Dean knew of two other great players in Scott Coogan on drums and Chris Mosher on keyboards. Arena played the Elk Grove Battle of the Bands. 7th heaven was on hiatus during this time.
After graduating from high school, Richard, Tony and Mike had a heart to heart discussion on how Richard was going full steam ahead with the band and getting it back in full swing again now that school was over.
Since Dav Carrozzo had decided that his life playing music was over, the band was looking for a new bass player.
Chris Senior was one of the many people who used to come see 7th heaven practice at Popular Creek in 1987. During that time he gave Richard his number and said he played bass. So after a phone call and a couple meetings Chris Senior joined 7th heaven. Chris was a great addition to the band as he had a great drive to make the band succeed.
In the winter that year, Mike decided his time playing music was also over, so the band was in search of a new drummer.
