1993 started off on a high note. Over Christmas time, Richie's Grandma informed Richie that his 2nd uncle Vic Faraci worked as a VIP at Warner Brothers Records (Vic's band also played Richie's parents Wedding).. on a side note Vic's son is Jim Faraci who was a poducer/engineer that worked with bands like Ratt, Stryper, Poison, Lizzy Borden, recently did all Jeff Dunham's stuff.. he is Richie's 2nd cousin (ironic that Richie shares producing skills). After learning about this, Richie decided to fly to Los Angeles to meet with Vic at Warner Brothers. While there, Richie went to the NAMM show and met a wide range of artists as well as performing with a few of them at a club on the Hollywood strip.

After meeting with his uncle Vic things looked very good for 7th heaven. Vic was impressed with the bands stuff, Warner Brothers wanted to hear more.. so Richie flew back to Chicago with a mission. While the band was never offically shopped to a A&R, the door was open to see what could happen.

Performing at the Vic theater, the band was one fo the first in Chicagoland to introduce live sequencing, rappers and female singers within a male driven rock band. At the Vic Theater, there was a time where there was 11 people on stage at one time. In fact this was Tammy Mooshey's first time performing with 7th heaven.

Soon after the Vic Theater show lead singer Tony had a tragic turn of events. Tony had been going thru boughts of depression, when he went to a oral surgeon to get his wisdom teeth removed, his heart stopped. The doctors had to revive Tony and when he came to he fell into a state of manic depression. Tony's case of manic depression was so severe that it stopped the band completely. Tony spent the majority of the year in the hospital. During the time Tony was getting help 7th heaven won a award for "Best New Commercial Band" from the Chicago Rocker Magazine. Richie also won for "Best Keyboardist" (for sequencing).

While the band was down, Richie and Nick recorded a few new songs in Richie's studio. This break from playing gave Richie the chance to get much better at Keyboards. On a challenge to himself, Richie put together a 120 song/80 minute medley. It was a good lesson to learn how to find certain tones and re-produce them. This process took a month just to pick the songs and about another 3 months to put together. When Tony became better and was release from the hospital Richie worked with Tony over a period of another month to record all the songs on this medley. Having to sing a wide range of singers, this was a perfect excercise to re-build Tony's voice back to the strength it once was.
