2008 is the biggest year in 7th heaven's history!
Playing over 225 shows, the band was everywhere in 2008. Not only did the band average 3-9 shows each week, but the band foud time to release THREE new products.
U.S.A.-U.K. was released in August with 18 songs, 6 songs were from the "Silver" CD and were re-recorded to feature Keith's voice on them. The band kept it's AOR/Modern Rock sound that made them so popular around the world.
The CD has only been out a couple months and have already got them excellent reviews from arou
nd the world.
The Medley CD/DVD was a product that fans kept asking for. The famous 30-songs in 30-minutes medleys the band plays live. Not only was this product released, but the videos were added to YouTube, MySpace and Facebook, which exposed the band to millions of new faces.
The Unplugged CD was released in October and features 36 songs. It features Keith Semple, Richie Hofherr, Nick Cox and Tammy Mooshey.. each taking turns singing lead vocals. This CD shows the vocal ability of the band and strips down the band to basic elements. Because the band has been playing some weekday unplugged shows, it only made sense to have a product that showed that angle of the band, which is very different than the full band.
2008 also saw the retirement of Dan Miller. Dan played his last show with 7th heaven on July 19. After playing in 7th heaven for 19 years, Dan wanted to spend more time with his family. Maybe one day Dan will return to the kit.
2008 also saw Nick Cox coming back onboard as a full time band member. He was already playing in the unplugged version of the band and now he joins the band full time once again.
A new thing the band did in 2008 was to perform on a float in the Chicago Gay Pride Parade. While the band doen't have any gay members, it does support the freedom to be loved by all and be happy.
The band's new annual BBQ was a huge success as well, having over 100 people come out to hang with the band & crew and get to know everyone away from the show.
The 3rd annual 7th heaven cruise took place again the Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas.
Like before the band played full band poolside and unplugged in the olive or twist. Joined by a huge group of friends, fans and family the week was amazing and was a huge success.
7th heaven's song "This Summers Gonna Last Forever" was featured in the Walter E. Smithe / Chicago Cubs TV Commercial and is planned to be released again in 2009 putting 7th heaven's music on TV.
Jack FM and the Hyatt Regency Chicago sponsored 7th heaven to perform for them on New Years Eve. Selling over 3,500 tickets to this event, it was a HUGE success by all.
Fun Fact: 7th heaven dressed as Presidents for Halloween:
Keith - Abraham Lincoln • Richie - Goerge W. Bush • Mark - Barrack Obama
Nick - Richard Nixon • Mike - John McCain
