Passing of good friends
Two weeks ago we lost two friends of 7th heaven: John Elias and Russ Kotlarz
John Elias was a friend I met thru a singer I was working with and producing. He ran a Management
company in New York and over the past 2 years I got to know John even better. John had a HUGE
passion for the music business, one that I wish more had. He joined us last month on the 7th heaven
cruise and made a lot of new friends. He was 33 years old and passed away in his sleep.
We will miss you John, be well.
And then around the same time I find out our good friend Russ Kotlarz passed away from a Heart
Problem.. he was 39. Russ was a good friend to 7th heaven. I met Russ when I was 17 at Elk Grove
High School. He was kind enough to let us use his PA System to perform in the Variety Show.. he even
lend a hand in signing with us from the backstage.. and from time to time you could see Russ at
7th heaven shows over the years and occasionally being pulled onstage to sing with us. Russ sang in
the band Wave and Peg 7. He was always a kind person and always in a happy spirit.
Russ left behind a wife and child and a child on the way. We will be performing a benefit for Russ on
Sunday December 2 at Legends Music Cafe in Addison. Since the years Russ knew 7th heaven best
was with Tony, Nick, Danny, Dan and I, we will al get together to perform a few songs from that era of
the band, as well as some from our current line-up. All the money will towards a fund for Russ.
Added Shows
We just added some shows to our schedule this past week.
First off, we added some South Side shows for December so all you South-sider's make sure
you join us at Gilhouley's, Papa T's and the Colosseum. We have never had a strong draw
on the south side, so make sure you come out and bring a friend or two or three..
